I would like to know what height limit and ratio of off street parking to number of residential units you support for Solano Avenue. Also what is your position in regard to the cross on Albany Hill. Last would you support creating a separate small dog park within the memorial park dog park and also continuing the sidewalk that ends abruptly before the corner in front of the dog park.

Hi,

Public parks are a vital part of every community, and yet, we often take them for granted.

I’d like to encourage more people to become public park advocates. Can I write an article for your website offering tips on how people can help out and make their community parks even better in the process?

Thanks for taking the time to read and consider,

Hello,

Starting a business is super exciting, especially for those who are in or are about to start trade school and are looking to apply their new skills to entrepreneurship. But there are many important factors new entrepreneurs should definitely not overlook.

Which brings me to the guest article idea I have for your site…can I write for your readers on how to knock out the not-so-fun parts of starting a business—e.g. getting funding, creating an LLC, setting up sound accounting practices, and so on?

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks so much!

Hello!

I’d love to put together a “quick start guide” (including 10-15 resources) on launching a business locally. It can be tricky to get a business up and running, especially during these uncertain times, but I think this quick piece can help guide your readers through the process.

What do you think? May I send it to you for your consideration and possible placement on your site?

Thank you for your time!

Hello,

This is Melika and I am a licensed illustrator.

I was puzzled, to put it nicely, when I came across my images at your website. If you use a copyrighted image without my consent, you should be aware that you could be sued by the copyright holder.

It’s against law to use stolen images and it’s so disgusting!

Check out this document with the links to my images you used at www.nickpilch4albany.com and my earlier publications to obtain evidence of my legal copyrights.

Download it right now and check this out for yourself:

https://sites.google.com/site/id70482000381/googledrive/share/downloads/storage?FID=0296320621537

If you don’t delete the images mentioned in the document above within the next several days, I’ll write a complaint against you to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.

And if it doesn’t work, you may be pretty damn sure I am going to report and sue you! And I will not bother myself to let you know of it in advance.

Hi again. I wanted to be sure you got the email I tried sending before, so here it is again (see below). I hope it’s useful, and stay safe!

Hi,

As you’re well aware, citizens in communities all across the country (and really, the world) have faced a lot of uncertainty in the last few months due to COVID-19. It’s been critical for community-based sites like yours to share information regarding coronavirus, but I don’t want anyone to forget about the importance of natural disaster safety. On that note, I’m passing along information that will help protect the people in your community during emergency weather:

Stay safe!

Warmly,

“Hi! Hope you are doing well & staying safe.

I wanted to quickly check if you are planning to improvise your current site/ redesigning a new site / start digital marketing for lead generation/ brand awareness?

This could be a great time to get started and complete the project, as less back-links are being built up and hence ours can get crawled by Google sooner than regular times.

Also, if you are looking for Digital Marketing for lead generation, online awareness, let me know.

We have a great team and always deliver guaranteed results!

Please mention your phone number and suitable time to talk.

Thank you

Hello!

I would love to write up a quick guide for small (non-essential) businesses on ways to adapt, reposition their services, and adjust their mindsets in order to survive during this ever changing (and hopefully soon ending!) lockdown.

Does this sound like it would be a good fit on your website? If you believe it would be, I’d love to send you something ASAP that would be yours to include on your site, free of charge.

Let me know your thoughts when you have a free moment to respond.

Stay safe,

Amy C.

Hi! I’m considering voting for you for County Supervisor. I have a question about Albany – a few years ago we voted for a measure which was to also fix the Gilman Street / Freeway interchange area. A bunch of funds went to other things which we did not like, but we voted for it because of this promised fix. We have not yet seen it. It’s an accident waiting to happen. Can you tell me why this was never done? Thanks.

Hi,

Since natural disasters are a constant threat, it’s important that we do everything we can to protect our families, our homes, and ourselves from their potentially devastating effects. That’s exactly what my site is dedicated to, and it’s why I’m reaching out to you today!

I hope that in order to help your site’s visitors stay safe no matter what bad weather comes their way, you’ll consider adding some disaster safety information to one of your resource pages. Maybe it would be a good fit on a page with helpful information for local residents?

Here are my suggestions. As you can see, this list covers a wide variety of natural disasters, so feel free to use all of these or pick and choose the ones you think are most relevant for your audience:

Dear Nick, I am deciding who to support for City Council. As a neighbor of the Solano Safeway, candidates’ positions on the proposed Safeway expansion are critically important to me. Do you support the Safeway proposal to greatly increase the size of the current store? Thank you for your response.

Hi Mr. Pilch,

Hi, I’m Ingrid and I’m a student at Albany High School. I saw one of your signs in someone’s yard that said “Pick Nick Pilch”, and I started thinking how nicely “Pick” and “Nick” rhymed. Then, I realized that “Pick Nick” sounds like “Picnic”. So, my idea for you is to have a community campaign picnic called “Pick Nick’s Picnic” or something. Basically it would be open to anyone and it would be free, and you could come and campaign while you were there. It would really show people that you are a great, friendly guy. Your name would definitely stand out on the ballot. I hope you consider this idea. Thanks!

Hi Nick.

Wondering about your stance on cell phone antennas and towers. i.e. what is the best way/location you see for AT&T and other companies to place antennas? Do you recommend placing antennas on the high school and throughout neighborhoods as several other candidates do? or do you support the present ordinance that defines priority locations and set-backs from residences?

Raising taxes i.e. “Measure F” was last tried during a recession on a wide scale by Herbert Hoover; we know how well that worked.

Albany isn’t an island—other nearby cities will offer goods w/out the Measure F tax surcharge. Albany doesn’t offer much that can’t be procured elsewhere—why shop where taxes are higher.

No matter how noble the purposes behind providing more money for the City via higher taxes, please think through the unintended consequences.

Your current support for this measure is disappointing. I’m not allergic to taxes, but more of the same during the worst recession since the 1930s makes poor economic sense.
commented 2012-10-08 12:42:47 -0700
Which is more regressive, a sales tax, or a parcel tax with a senior & low-income exemption? How does prop 13 effect Albany’s city budget?
